I forgot to post previously published articles, again. Sigh. A few weeks ago, I published Takoyaki @ Kura Japanese Restaurant, Kura Japanese Restaurant and Short Stack @ Pancakes on the Rocks. Today, Delicious Antipasto Platter @ Hilton on the Park was published from my most recent trip to Melbourne.

That is all for now, it’s currently week 5 (nearly the end of week 5, actually) of university, which goes for 13 weeks plus exams. I’m trying to maintain my full time studies as well as my new job without going insane. It’s not easy, but that’s why I’m not writing much commercially at the moment.

It’s 9:15 on Sunday and I’m having such an insane weekend, consisting purely of mathematics and statistics. I’ve not yet finished my homework but last night after having defeated a statistical monster, I decided to submit three foods on WeekendNotes. Vegetable Tempura @ Kura Japanese Restaurant, Delicious Croquettes @ Kura Japanese Restaurant and Yummba Plate @ Yummba Vegetarian were all published today.

I still have some Kura foods to go, so these “food” articles are all in preparation for my complete article on Kura Japanese Restaurant, which will come soon. I’d have finished it all last night, except I literally started to fall asleep by the time I had finished those three foods.

Such is life, I’m very tired these days. Nonetheless, I endeavour to soldier on and try to manage my university studies, balance them with my wonderful new job (which I truly adore) and WeekendNotes whenever I can. Social life? What social life can I expect! I have housework, homework and work work. That’s okay though, if I come out successful at the end of this semester, I’ll consider myself superwoman.

I have had six articles published on WeekendNotes. University’s started, so it’s been difficult to maintain a job, university and writing. I have a cold that just won’t seem to go away, but I guess it’s better than having bronchitis, which I had for a little bit but then took antibiotics to rid myself of it. After the course of antibiotics I still feel pain in my throat and chest. Anyway, enough negativity, I’ve managed to get six articles published on WeekendNotes.

Food articles Chicken Minestrone @ Zellini’s Cafe, Chicken Cordon Bleu @ Zellini’s Cafe, Antipasto Melt @ Caffe e Torta, Freshly Squeezed Blood Orange Juice @ Caffe e Torta and Mocha @ Caffe e Torta. I couldn’t just leave the gorgeous Caffe e Torta in Melbourne without a dedicated review, so of course I wrote one for it. I guess we can say “that’s all for now” folks, as I have a tough semester ahead of me. I will keep writing when time permits but I’ve just been so sloppy with updating this journal. I should really do it more often.

I still endeavour to write the requests articles, just perhaps not quite at the volume I was polishing them off at before. I am impressed with how much I managed to write over the last few months and it was great. However, it’s now the time to really knuckle down. As well as academic texts, I am required to do a large amount of quantitative work this semester due to my business statistics and microeconomics course. These will ensure that I have the real quantitative basis for future economics courses or roles. I love writing, but it really is more of a passion than a true career at the moment. I think a nice balance would perhaps be to write for the economist later down the track.

For now though, I do need to really try and do well while maintaining a job that’s quite far away from home.

Oh my, I once again forgot to write in here when my two articles got published. What’s going on with this world! Oh dear. So, Learn to Fly a Helicopter in Sydney and Houseboat Holidays in Sydney were successfully published. I plan to write the last remaining requests, some restaurant reviews and food articles but I am working at my new job and attending university fulltime.

I can’t believe it, I actually forgot to post in here when my last few articles got published. This is all because I’ve got this new (amazing) job, but I’ve been in fulltime training for two-and-a-half weeks. Anyway, so the articles I published before today were Alison Park, Furious Ocean @ Coogee Beach and Gorgeous View @ La Perouse Peninsula. Today I wrote about five articles, three of which have already been published. I decided to promote the Youth Week in the City 2012 event. I also submitted and published a food article on Salmon Sashimi @ Kura Japanese Restaurant. Last but not least, I finished fixing an article on How to Adopt a Pet. This article received a 10/10 editor score, which is quite rare from my understanding. I’m quite proud of this achievement.

Given that I finally had the chance, today I decided to work on a couple more from the requests list. I’m waiting for the editors to publish what I’ve written today, which I will strike-through: -

  1. Deep sea fishing
  2. Carving courses
  3. Boat share
  4. Fishing boat hire
  5. Boat hire
  6. Best hotels
  7. Helicopter lessons
  8. Flying lessons
  9. Camping stores
  10. Houseboats

After these are published, I won’t have as many requests left. This is a shame because I love how random some of these topics are. I guess I can do requested places, but it’s just not the same as researching and writing about a hobby.

List after current pending articles are published:

  1. Deep sea fishing
  2. Carving courses
  3. Boat share
  4. Fishing boat hire
  5. Boat hire
  6. Best hotels
  7. Flying lessons
  8. Camping stores

Anyway, toodles, it will be fun attempting to manage my new job, university and WeekendNotes but I know my priorities. I love my new job, it’s for a very respectable company. I love university and have only one semester left until I finish my undergraduate. I’ve received early entry into my masters and I need to finish my undergrad successfully in order for this entry not to be voided. Finally, I love writing and I love WeekendNotes, but I’ll need to keep this as a hobby.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention, I published article #100 today!! Woot!!! :)

The Perfect Date With Yourself got published today :) It got editor’s choice. Woot!

Waiting on more stuff to get published. Also waiting on one more thing, really hopeful! Will keep updated on here as much as possible.

I have had two articles published, one of which is editor’s choice. I’ve finally gotten around to writing my Pinocchio Sushi review. I also wrote a piece on Cucu Cubano, which is the one picked for editor’s choice.

I’ve also claimed a bunch of Sydney requests. My pending list is now as follows:

  1. Deep sea fishing
  2. Carving courses
  3. Boat share
  4. Fishing boat hire
  5. Boat hire
  6. Best hotels
  7. Helicopter lessons
  8. Flying lessons
  9. Camping stores
  10. Houseboats

I’m quite excited now.

I’ve had my 91st article published on WeekendNotes. This one wasn’t a request and was inspired by my recent extracurricular activities. What’s the Best Way to Learn a Language in Sydney? is the article. I remain at 1st rank and have over 22000 views now.

This was me in the morning a week and a bit ago :) I thought I’d put this up! I still had makeup on from the day before.

My St Patrick’s Tavern requests article was published today. Just waiting on a few more to have the same fate. I’m especially excited about one to do with languages. This one wasn’t a request article at all, but actually a creative idea of my own. Can’t wait!! I remain at number one. I don’t really know how all of the other amazing writers haven’t beaten me yet, but somehow I’ve been consistently at that rank for a little while now.
